About the Department
The department of physics was established in the academic year 2004-2005 with the aim of equipping students with the practical and research knowledge in the field of physical science. The department has fulfilled the thirst of the student by fetching M.Sc., course in our college in the academic year 2014-2015.
There are 8 Assistant Professors along with two Lab Assistants working for the welfare of the students. They are dynamic, dedicated, focused and highly motivated and also working consistently to take this department forward.
We have well equipped laboratories for undergraduate and post graduate courses. We have general lab and electronics lab separately for UG and PG students. We are guiding research projects for final year PG students. In this way we are motivating our students to join in the research field.

- Our department student Ms.J.Jenciline Rubina has achieved Thiruvalluvar University 10th Rank in the Academic year of 2015-16.
- Our department student Mr. P. Sathiyamoorthy has achieved Thiruvalluvar University 5th Rank in the Academic year of 2018-19.
Awards
- Our department student III-B.Sc-Physics Ms.K.Dharani has received Na. MUTHUKUMAR award in Chennai from TAMIL KALAI ELAKIYAM Trust on Nov 11 – 2019.
- Our department student I-M.Sc., physics Ms. M. Pavithra has participated & won 2nd place in district level drawing competition about “National voter’s day” On Jan 25-2021.
