Internal Complaint Committee
The main objectives of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) are to prevent sexual harassment, create a safe and inclusive environment, and provide a fair and confidential mechanism for handling complaints. This includes developing and implementing policies against harassment, raising awareness, conducting impartial investigations, and recommending appropriate actions and support for victims.
Key objectives:
- Prevention of sexual harassment: To proactively prevent sexual harassment in the workplace through policies and awareness programs.
- Safe environment: To create a physically and socially safe atmosphere where women and all individuals can work or study with dignity and without fear.
- Complaint mechanism: To provide a secure, accessible, confidential, and fair channel for registering and addressing complaints related to sexual harassment.
- Awareness and education: To educate employees and students about their rights, the institution’s policies, and issues of gender equity.
- Fair and impartial investigation: To conduct thorough and impartial inquiries into all complaints received.
- Redressal and support: To recommend suitable punitive actions for offenders and provide appropriate support, such as emotional and psychological counseling, to victims.
- Compliance and accountability: To ensure the organization complies with legal mandates and to monitor the implementation of the committee’s recommendations.
